I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2010 and am now undergoing chemotherapy. I am planning to run a series of three very different races over this time. Cash donations made directly to me will go to the chemotherapy unit at The Mid Argyll Hospital Lochgilphead and on line donations to Breast Cancer Care, two very worthy and important causes. The three races are
- Crinan Puffer 8.5 miles April 17th
- Inverary Jail Break 236m 6.5k hill race May 8th
- Mid Argyll Triathlon September 25th
17th April Well, that is the first race done today with a time of 1:18. I had just the best support and encouragement all the way along from supporters and runners alike. Today we collected a fabulous £270 including a very generous donation from the race organisers for The Mid Argyll Chemotherapy Unit. This is added to the £75 raised already independantly puls the fantastic donations here to Breast Cancer Care. Thank you all.
Donations are continuing to be fantastically generous...thank you all. However as some of you will know I was unable to take part in the final event as listed above due to a rare response to my last chemotherapy session....so never one to give up I have entered in the Mid argyll triathlon on 25th September this year and am hoping to complete that as my final fundraising event.
August 28th All treatment is now finished and training is coming along at a suitable pace! I am allowed back in the pool finally and have been trying to remember the crawl...and more importantly the turns! the donations have been staggeringly generous and as well as the donations here I have raised £1200 for the local unit. Thank you all. X
September 30th The training paid off and I survived the triathlon...thank you so much for all the donations....just need to work on teh cycle for next year!! x
