This includes funding for: clinical trials to study new and more effective therapies the purchase of specialist equipment the modernisation of clinical services, including the building of The Catherine Lewis Centre, a £10 million state-of-the-art facility at the Hammersmith. We made it!  Almost 1,200km of some of the toughest mountains I've ever ridden.  Legs still hurt but it was all so worth it. Thanks to everyone who helped and sponsored.  We raised a lot of money for Leuka.

Hi & thanks for visiting my page!

This challenge I have got myself into is to cycle over the Alps with a group of amateur cyclists called the Fireflies. The challenge will be to pedal a grueling 1100km+ from Verona in Italy to Cannes in the South of France in 8 days. We will be cycling to raise money for Leuka, a charity formed to support Research & Treatment of leukaemia at the Hammersmith Hospital, London. Inspired by the courage it takes to fight cancer, the riders will take on 19 of the toughest mountain climbs in the Italian / French Alps ascending an incredible 90,000+ft.

One in three of us will be diagnosed with some type of cancer in our lifetime. It is believed that leukaemia is the model of all cancers and achieving a greater understanding of this disease will help in the fight against all other forms of cancer.

Leuka raises funds to support life-saving research into the causes and treatment of leukaemia and other blood disorders. The goal is simple: to create a better future for patients both here in the UK and abroad.

Leukaemia is not common, but for those diagnosed with the disease, it is very real and frightening. Researchers at the hospital continue to explore new and better methods of controlling the disease and ensuring that any advances in treatment reach the bedside as quickly as possible.

With your encouragement and support the Fireflies will find it a little easier to drag themselves up each mountain. I have financed the ride myself so all of your contributions go directly to Leuka.

For those who suffer we ride.
