World Record, Over 40 hours of football!!
The plan put simply is to play football and break a world record. It gets a little more complicated than that though. The current World Record is 37 hours, the aim is to go over 40 hours. The game is between 2 squads of 18 players, and played under normal FA rules. As a player I will have to sleep at the pitch side when not playing, only getting 5 minutes “comfort” breaks for every hour played.
This is an immense commitment physically and mentally we will be starting on Friday evening and finishing on Sunday some point in the evening probably. This means playing the game through 2 nights, however all of this is for a great cause:
The overall aim is to raise £30,000 to build a school for some of the poorest and oppressed children of the Dalit Community in India. All money raised will go to an organisation called Relief, Education and Development who build the Schools. My individual aim like many of the players is to raise a minimum of £1,000 myself.
