Youth Sport Trust International
Youth Sport Trust International is a sport for development charity and is the international arm of the Youth Sport Trust. We use the unique power of sport to improve the lives of young people. For over 20 years, we have worked in some of the poorest areas of the world, tackling poverty, inequality and conflict to bring about effective and sustainable change.

The Challenge

We aim to be the first female relay team to row a coastal double scull from Land’s End to North Foreland (Broadstairs), setting a world record time and raising money for Charity.

Depending upon the weather and tides - we aim to start this Saturday (12/08) evening at 6.30pm or Sunday (13/08) at 6am from Sennon Cove. It is calculated that to complete the challenge will be around 5 days. Some sections we have a support boat, others will be land changes with a support vehicle that follows along the route.

Please follow our Facebook Page: Foot of Britain ROW for updates on our progress.

Who are we raising money for?

Youth Sport Trust International is a sport for development charity. For 20 years, they have worked in some of the poorest areas of the world, tackling poverty, inequality and conflict to bring about effective and sustainable change.

Guin Batten, the team leader, has seen firsthand how the amazing work of Youth Sport Trust International has helped street children back into school in Indonesia, and says "sport is a hugely powerful place to learn about life, Youth Sport Trust International helps children from really tough communities to learn way to improve their lives!".

 More about our Crew:

Since then she has been involved in developing the sport of rowing and sport generally through her work at the Youth Sport Trust. She has continued to take on endurance challenges, and holds the world record time for rowing a single scull across the English Channel and rowing the Northern Atlantic Route from New York to London, also in an all female crew.

Judith Schulz and Caroline Matthews are both members of Tideway Scullers School and have both won many National rowing medals and represented England at the Home International Regatta. They were also part of the Gold-Medal winning Quad at the National Offshore Rowing Championships 2017 in Poole.
