Ability Bow
Ability Bow helps people with disabilities or long-term health conditions to take part in exercise. Through taking part in closely supported exercise programmes, we seek to improve the health and fitness of disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. We aim to help people become stronger, more independent and self-confident. Disabled people and people with one or more health condition face significant barriers to exercise. Ability Bow provides one-to-one support, raising self-confidence and motivation, and encourages each individual to make healthy lifestyle changes - many of whom have never taken part in exercise before. Funding raised by our marathon runners and private donors is crucial to the running of our service. We are currently raising money to get people off our waiting list and into the gym. Any sum is most gratefully received and not a penny wasted. One of our gym users says: 'No matter what your disability is, Ability Bow can cater for you. I have a walking impairment so if I don’t go to the gym I can’t walk at all well. There are many machines that help my impairment, like the leg press. The best thing about the gym is that the trainers are specialists. They see that I’m blind and don’t mind working with me because I’m blind. At other gyms if you don’t look able they won’t help you without a carer, and I prefer not to have a carer. At Ability Bow you can come in as an independent person.' PD 2009

Hey guys and gals, thank you very much for visiting my just giving fundraising page.

Ability Bow is a small registered charity, formed by Director Victoria Kent in 2006 with the support of the local community in Bow, east London.

Ability Bow provides inclusive fitness facilities and expert help from their friendly and highly-qualified Instructors. Ability Bow strive to attract people to the fitness facility who have never used a gym before, or who would not normally take part in exercise. Ability Bow particularly focus on people who have disabilities or those who would not be able to afford to use a gym.

Please dig deep and sponsor a very worthy cause no matter how small, as Tesco says 'every little helps' xxxx
