SportsAid is the charity for sports people, helping the next generation of British sporting talent to succeed. For over 30 years, SportsAid has financially supported talented, young sports people when they need it the most, at the start of their journey to international success. SportsAid is the first organisation to recognise their talent, often when Mum and Dad are their only sponsors. Young athletes, both able-bodied and those with a disability, are nominated to SportsAid by their sport’s own national governing body (NGB). This ensures the right athlete is helped at the right time, and in the right way. It is a proven and established process that makes a genuine difference. Many of Britain’s most successful athletes have been helped on their journey by SportsAid: Redgrave, Radcliffe, Grey-Thompson, Holmes, Hoy, Adlington, Wiggins, Ohuruogu, and many more. By raising money in the name of sport for the benefit of sport, we ensure the next generation has the backing they need to reach the same heights.

GLL Sport Foundation
The GLL Sport Foundation is an organisation operated by Charitable Social Enterprise GLL to support talented athletes across the UK. In 2007 GLL became aware of young talented athletes having to give up on their dreams because of the high costs of training, travel and competitions. In many cases, talent was being lost due to financial hardship with an associated negative impact on local young people, communities and sports clubs. GLL were determined to develop a scheme to counter this problem. Following from this research, the GLL Sport Foundation was born, launched in 2008 with the support of Sally Gunnell OBE who became the Foundation’s Patron. Since its inception the Foundation has provided over 8,400 athlete award bursaries totalling over £4.9million of support. As a leading Charitable Social Enterprise, GLL are proud to be able to make this positive impact to our communities through the Foundation. Any donations towards the foundation would be much appreciated by the athletes of the future!
