Charity
OCD-UK is the leading national charity, independently working with and for people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Listed amongst the top 10 most debilitating illnesses by the World Health Organisation in terms of loss of income and decreased quality of life, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is thought to affect 2-3% of the UK population. It is our belief that everyone affected by Obsessive Compulsive Disorder should receive the most appropriate and the highest quality standards of care, support and treatment. Our objective is to make a positive and meaningful difference in the everyday lives of people affected by Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, by providing accessible and effective support services and by campaigning for improved access and quality treatment and care for people with OCD. We believe it is vital that every person affected by OCD receives the highest quality of treatment and care that they are entitled to and deserve. We facilitate a safe environment for people affected by OCD to communicate with each other and provide mutual understanding and support.

Crazy Little Run
In an attempt to get fit I thought it would be great to do a little running, so having not exercised for about 10 years i've signed up to do the British 10k. Well that should get me motivated.
But that's not the only reason I'm doing it. I also want to give something back to a charity that has been a life saver to me (literally). Having suffered silently with OCD for many years, the wonderful people at OCD-UK gave me the courage to seek help and also helped me realise I wasn't alone. It turns out this is a real problem for lots of people, many of whom have become great friends.
I am going to run 10k in less time then it used to take for me to leave the house!!!!!!!!!! With fantastic support and a sense of real understanding OCD-UK has given me the strength and oppotunity to get back on my feet and start looking forward and so this is my way of thanking a very special charity and hopefully raising some much needed awareness of this illness.
So please give as much as you can, it really is going to do a great deal of good for a lot of people.
anyway that's it from me, i'm off now to learn how this running thing works!!!!!!!!
