Kidneys for Life
A large number of the population have chronic kidney disease and this is only going to get worse as we put on weight and live longer. Whilst it is more likely to affect you when you get older, all ages are at risk and can develop kidney failure needing dialysis and possibly a kidney transplant. Kidneys for Life is a charity based in Manchester raising funds to enable research into kidney disease, transplantation and dialysis and also helps to improve amenities for renal patients at Manchester Royal Infirmary and its satellite dialysis units If you would like more information please contact Irene Chambers on 0161 276 6671 or email: fundraiser@kidneysforlife.org

We are a group of garden enthusiasts who met while studying for our RHS qualifications at Reaseheath College.  Harry Delaney was our tutor and inspired us so much we decided in 2010 to create and build a Back to Back garden at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.  Back then we were known as Harry’s Evening Stars but after winning a Gold medal we have changed our name to Harry’s Gold Stars.

This year we have decided to create and build a Show Garden at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park on behalf of Kidneys for Life to promote their work.  Kidneys for Life is a charity based in Manchester raising funds to enable research into kidney disease, transplantation and dialysis and also helps to improve amenities for renal patients at Manchester Royal Infirmary and its satellite dialysis units.

Kidneys for Life are a small charity and we want to keep the costs down as much as possible through sponsorship.  So far we have been able to get sponsorship for our hard landscaping from Cheshire Brick and Slate, our water feature from M&P Engineering, and pots from Whichford Pottery.   What we need now is help with sponsorship for buying the plants.  Money raised from this site will pay for the plants with any surplus staying with the charity.  Once the show is over the plants will be sold and the proceeds will go to Kidneys for Life.

Just like running, cycling, or walking for a charity our aim is to raise awareness of the great work that Kidneys for Life do and also raise money too.

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations, Harry’s Gold Stars (Peter Armstrong-Child, Maile Belanger, Richard Bowser, Marc Brimble, Pauline Clarke, Colin Greenwood, and Margaret Kewley)

(Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.)
