VSO
VSO is the world’s leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. VSO's high-impact approach involves bringing people together to share skills, build capabilities, promote international understanding and action, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all. Everyday around 1,500 VSO volunteers are working in carefully selected placements, sharing their and experience and working to tackle poverty by empowering those really affected by it.

Hi / Moni!
In October 2012, I'm heading to Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, to work as a volunteer IT Advisor for the Ministry of Health for 2 years. We will be implementing a much needed patient/HR management system, recommended by the WHO (World Health Organisation). See Example roles for details.
The charity I'm doing this through and fundraising for is VSO UK who specialise in placing experienced UK professionals abroad to share knowledge and drive change to eradicate poverty and inequality.
Our vision is a world without poverty.
VSO brings people together to fight poverty.
By thinking globally, we can change the world.
Progress is only possible by working together.
Knowledge is our most powerful tool.
People are the best agents of change.
80% of all donations go directly to an overseas project. The remaining 20% sustains the UK operations to train and place numerous volunteers on projects like mine in Malawi. All are very worthwhile and long term international development causes.
Please help me reach the fundraising target of £1500. This is the normal target for all placed volunteers, who usually have a lot longer to achieve it. Since this Malawi placement is urgent, I don't have as long as other volunteers. So your kind donations will be extra appreciated.
Thank you / Zikomo!
