Iain Rennie Hospice At Home
The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home is a registered charity offering specialist and supportive care and advice for patients with cancer and other life threatening illnesses in their homes. We also aim to help the relatives and those carers close to the patient during the illness and bereavement period. The service is available 365 days a year and offers patients and carers access to on-call specialist advice and nursing visits on a 24 hour on-call basis. Our Hospice at Home service is offered to patients and families free of charge.
Only 0 days to go!

Thank you for visiting my London marathon giving site.  With a little help from a physio, I am keeping a niggling calf problem at bay and I am pretty confident that I can get this thing conquered.

I am very proud to be running for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.  They provided first class specialist and supportive care for my father some twenty years ago as he battled against cancer.  Backed by a hard-working team of nurses and volunteer fund raisers they have provided the same level of care to hundreds of other families since.

We all benefited hugely from the care that the hospice provided. Even though time has moved on, I still quite clearly remember the support that the Iain Rennie nurses offered my family during Dad’s illness. Their presence during such a traumatic period made everything so much more bearable and my memories a lot less painful.

Iain Rennie sets out to give people a choice to be cared for at home. In the last year they have cared for 900 patients and over 1,000 relatives. In order to achieve this they have to raise £3.3 million a year, of which only 12% is covered by NHS Primary Funding.

Due to the current economic climate, reserves are likely to fall from £2.1 million to the minimum requirement so it has never been more necessary to fundraise. To this end, I am hoping to raise £2,500 for the charity which will pay for approximately 20 days nursing care.

Thank you very much for your contribution and I’ll keep you posted on my performance!

Best,

Ian
