2013 Virgin London Marathon

21 April 2013

The Virgin London Marathon is one of the great British sporting events, combining elite athletics, mass participation and record-breaking fundraising in one race. The course is a gruelling 26 miles 385 yards long, passing through the streets of London from Blackheath to the famous finish line at The Mall.

Hi!!

Thanks so much for checking out my fundraising page!! I am going to be running on behalf of an AMAZING organization: International Justice Mission (IJM).

For those of you who do not know me, I am a second year law student at the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, IN, USA). Notre Dame prides itself in being a university that inspires and promotes students, future leaders, to use their educations to help others. Inspired by that mission, I chose to attend the University of Notre Dame for both my undergraduate and legal studies. I believe in the mission and am inspired daily by the idea of fighting for justice.

Living out this mission is International Justice Mission. IJM's mission is to rescue victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, social workers and investigators intervene in cases of abuse. They work together to prosecute perpetrators; rescue victims; and provide survivor aftercare in collaboration with local authorities. They also work globally to provide structural transformation: to strengthen judicial systems to deter potential oppressors.

Thank you so much for your support. Whether it is emotional, financial, or simply by promoting IJM by promoting awareness of modern day human trafficking and slavery issues. My small way to contribute to their mission is to run on April 21, 2013: each step I take, one step towards fighting injustice. I will not be able to do this without the support of those around me.
