Charity
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is dedicated to funding research to find the cure for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin-dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.

David and Jon Cycle to Paris in Morphsuits
Hello lovely person,
Thank you for visiting the fundraising page of David Newman and Jon Medcraft. As you may know, David and Jon are going to cycle from London to Paris in just 3 days, raising money for JDRF, the type 1 diabetes charity. As well as taking on this 228 mile challenge (up to 85 miles a day), they will be wearing Morphsuits throughout the Cycle.
The serious bit...
JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity, improving lives until they find the cure. They fund research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. Over 400,000 people in the UK (including 26,000 children) live with type 1 diabetes. Living with type 1 is a relentless condition, requiring daily fingers jabs and insulin injections just to stay alive. David and Jon are lucky that they don't have type 1 diabetes, but since they've worked at JDRF they now know many colleagues and supporters living with this condition and the devastating consequences it can bring.
The fun bit...
Cycling in Morphsuits.
What's in it for you...
By making a donation to David and Jon's Cycle you will received:
- A warm feeling that you have just done something amazing (go on... give it a try).
- Access to their blog which contains their day by day training diary.
- Hour by hour updates from the entire Cycle, including many amusing videos, photos and stories of David and Jon in Morphsuits.
- A postcard from Paris.
- A chance to win a ticket to a night of athletics action at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. When you make your donation, write how long you think it will take for David and Jon to complete the cycle and the closest guess will win a ticket to go with Jon (they are cycling together, so they will finish in exactly the same time).
So there you have it. I hope you are now ready to make a donation by clicking on the irresistibly 'Donate now' button, so you experience that warm glow of doing something amazing.
Many thanks,
David and Jon
