Momentum aims to improve the lives of children undergoing treatment for cancer or life -limiting conditions by providing support to the children and their families. We are committed to providing the best possible physical and emotional care we can to each child and their family from the initial diagnosis throughout treatment and beyond.

Running For Momentum
It has taken 4 years of applications – but at long last I have got my place in the London Marathon. I think I’m pleased......but sometimes I could do without having to go running in the cold and wet. Anyway, I thought that since I’ve got in, I should use the opportunity to help somebody else (other than myself) to benefit from it, which is why I’ve done a just giving page for Momentum.
Most of you will know how much Momentum means to me, for the support that it gave to Kiera (pictured here) and her parents, Ann and Jeff. We all miss Kiera greatly, but we shall never forget her.
Momentum is based at Kingston Hospital and supports children with cancer and other life threatening diseases. The charity was formed initially as a support group for the children and their families, but after listening to what the families needed to make their long stays in hospital more bearable, it started fundraising to provide those things. It helps with the smallest things, such as making sure there are toys and games in the cupboards for the children, to wine and goodies in the parents’ cupboard, but then it has also set up a “teenage” room in the hospital and bought a holiday home in the New Forest for families to get away to.
