UWMFC - From Boundary Park to Anfield

Fundraiser:

On Friday 17 March, a group of lads from the University of Warwick Men's Football Club will aim to travel on foot between Boundary Park and Anfield - the homes of Oldham Athletic and Liverpool FC - in 12 hours or less. This challenge will be completed in order to raise money for both Mind and Mesothelioma UK, two charities close to club members.

Mind offers advice and support to people experiencing a mental health problem; with suicide the biggest killer of males under 45 in the UK, this is a charity which the club is proud to support. Changing perceptions about mental health is vitally important, and UWMFC hopes to raise both money to do this and awareness that it's OK to talk.

Mesothelioma UK provides assistance to sufferers of mesothelioma, a type of cancer that usually develops in the chest and is caused primarily by exposure to asbestos. This remains a health concern for many people, and Mesothelioma UK offers excellent care to patients and their family/friends at a difficult time. We hope to make a contribution to support their continued efforts to improve treatment and awareness of mesothelioma.
