James Morley's Macmillan Cancer Support page

Fundraiser:
James Morley

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JamesMorley

I was diagnosed in September 2011 with prostate cancer, at the age of 43, and the first person I saw after the diagnosis was a MacMillan nurse.  In a nutshell he set me straight and moved me from thinking "oh, ****" to "oh, ok".  I've now had surgery to remove my prostate and it looks like the prognosis is good thanks to it being caught early. But some people aren't as lucky, which makes Macmillan's work all the more important.

This page started with a target at £250 and linked to the Palace to Palace bike ride I did before my operation.  Little did I know how generous my wonderful family and friends would be, and it has been so rewarding watching the total grow and grow. Before I had my operation the total stood at over £3,000 (including Gift Aid), and I now intend to keep this page open so that once I am up and about again I can do some more fundraising and add it to the total.

Movember 1907 moustaches on FlickrPlease join me in thinking of ways you might be able to donate. For example a few of us are not sending Christmas cards and then making a donation instead, and I have alsobeen raising money for Macmillan and Movember through one of my pictures on Flickr - http://flic.kr/p/aEKaVU.

So, do give as much as you can!

If you want to read a little more about my diagnosis and what it will mean see http://www.jamesmorley.net/2011/09/well-well-well/

Thanks, James

I've chosen Virgin as JustGiving has had such bad press recently about the  amount that they take off from donations.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Macmillan. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
