SPANA is committed to alleviating the suffering of working animals in some of the world's poorest communities in Africa and the Middle East. We provide free, immediate veterinary treatment as well as an extensive education programme teaching owners and children how to better care for their animals.

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page, where with your sponsorship for climbing Ben Nevis with our miniature Dachshund, we hope to raise more than £500 for SPANA - the charity that helps working animals abroad.
Around the world, over 200 million animals are forced to do the jobs of trucks, tractors and taxis - many carrying backbreaking loads in the searing heat. It can be a short and brutal life. SPANA provides free veterinary care, educates owners and children in animal welfare, and gets urgent help to animals caught up in emergencies.

If you find this cause as heartbreaking as we do, please sponsor us to climb Ben Nevis. This difficult challenge which we will face without a guide, is nothing compared to the dreadful trek these animals face on a daily basis. We hope it will make us realise how hard they work and raise awareness at the battle they face and the help they need to live a life of less pain. They really do need our support - the plight of animals often goes unnoticed in third world countries, but their suffering is real and severe.
