The Victoria Foundation - The Victoria Foundation exists to provide life enhancing medical assistance with the aim of improving lives where there is an opportunity to do so. The Foundation is helping to change many lives through the medical support it provides to both individuals and charities including Mobility Aids for Children, Accessible Transport, Hospital Treatment, Medical Equipment and Toolkit Grants and Bursaries to ensure the young people destined to be to become the future generations of doctors are not prevented from doing so because of finanacial restrictions. The donations we receive fund medical support and are not used to cover our administration costs.

NVMF Kilimanjaro Challenge 2010

09 November 2010

Have the experience of a lifetime by joining The New Victoria Medical Foundation Kilimanjaro Challenge Team and help to change many lives through the funds you raise. This ten day challenge will see the team leaving Heathrow on 9th November 2010 and arriving in Nairobi on the 10th. The following day, the team will travel to Arusha taking in a real African experience and then spend Friday meeting the local porters and guides, and checking the kit ready to set off on the climb on Saturday 13th November. The team will be led by Mike Laing (Snowdonia Climbing) and will steadily climb for the next 5 days aiming to reach the summit on Wednesday 17th November. On 18th November the team will return tired but elated to Arusha for a celebration of their wonderful achievement, not only in pushing themselves as far as they can, but in the funds the team have raised and the many lives the funds will help to change as a result of this fantastic challenge. On 20th November the team will be welcomed back by their proud families. The fundraising target for this challenge is to raise £50,000 which will provide medical support through the the range of projects The New Victoria Medical Foundaiton supports and also medical charities team members have chosen to support.

Hi, thanks for visiting my Kilimanjaro Challenge fundraising page.

I will be leaving Heathrow on 9th November setting off on what  promises to be the experience of a lifetime - TO CLIMB KILIMANJARO - as a member of the team of the Richmond based charity The New Victoria Medical Foundation.  

I am currently training hard to ensure I have the best chance of reaching the summit of Africa's highest peak. If this was not enough of a challenge I have also pledged to raise £10,000. The funds team members raise will help to change many lives through the medical support they will provide through the projects The New Victoria Medical Foundation supports or the work of a medical charity approved by The Foundation.

The funds I raise will go to support the work of

  •  The British Heart Foundation - in memory of my dear mother
  • Diabetes UK - in memory of my brother

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to The New Victoria Medical Foundation. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on the charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
