Established in 1985 as a registered charity, Links International works with partners in the west and in developing countries to educate, empower, resource and inspire individuals and communities to break free from the cycle of poverty. This is achieved through community healthcare, micro-enterprise development, training resources, income-generating projects and strategic partnerships. The result is holistic and sustainable. Links provides project support, oversight, and strategic advice to its partners. Accountability is key to ensure successful, sustainable projects. Links invests time and resources in project visits, communication and financial reporting. ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ (Chinese Proverb) We love teaching people how to fish but believe that, if they are not given a fishing rod, they may still starve. That’s why Links ‘links’ education to practical projects with a strategy that, quite literally, save lives.

Hello & thanks for visiting our fundraising page!
Following my recent trip to Africa with Bunches and the charity Links International, I returned wanting to do more to help improve the lives of people living in the remote village of Kande. After considering various fundraising ideas, I've signed up to run the London Marathon in April...and have roped in my Brother-In-Law Craig to run it too!
Every penny of the money raised will be used to build much needed latrines (toilets) in the area I visited, which will greatly improve sanitation and reduce the spread of disease.
26.2 miles is a HUGE challenge for both of us for a very worthwhile charity, whose work I had the privilege of experiencing first hand back in October.
