Jennifer's Co-Opera Adventure

Jennifer Coleman

My page:

My name is Jennifer and I am a soprano from a glamorous Berkshire town called Slough.
I have been selected to play the role of 2nd Niece in the main cast of Co-Opera Co's Production of Peter Grimes this August. The production will form the culmination of a month-long Development Programme and is a fantastic learning opportunity for me that I am privileged to have been accepted onto.  It’s a chance to prepare and perform a main role in one of Benjamin Britten's operas, added to which the many types of training I will receive will help build experience and skills towards one of my career goals of performing as the Governess in Britten's Turn of the Screw for a professional company... or my ultimate dream of playing Musetta in Puccini's La bohème at Covent Garden... one day.
Naturally, a production on top of a month’s development training means that there are fees involved for all the performers that have been chosen to take part. As I am in the main cast, my fees are higher than covers or chorus. I need to raise £1100 to be able to take part. So please help me out by donating and adding Gift Aid. Tickets to the production are free – so do come down and see what you have helped to support.
In return for donations you can DOWNLOAD some recordings that I have made with Harp or with String Quartet. (Just donate on this page and then select to pay £0 at the check out.) Follow this link:
Or for large donations, please get in touch and we can discuss additional benefits (e.g. a physical CD of my EP Simple Gifts, a mention in my biography, live skype performance, or even a performance in person).
Any extra funds will go towards postgraduate cost for studying on a two-year Masters Degree in Vocal Performance at the Royal College of Music, London which I will be starting in September and am simultaneously fundraising for.

I started life as a musical theatre singer and after school completed the one year foundation course in Musical Theare at ArtsEd Chiswick. I soon realised that I wanted to pursue classical music, and was fortunate to have been accepted to study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for four years. I then spent two years teaching singing lessons and working professionally at weddings, corporate and other events while saving up to study full time on a postgraduate course in London to pursue a career in opera. I have now just completed the Graduate Diploma at the Royal College of Music and have been offered a place to study on the Masters course starting in September.
