Jeremy Godfrey's Royal Parks for EMpower
Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to EMpower www.empowerweb.org. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
EMpower connects the Emerging Markets community with locally led organization in EM countries. With 73 active grants in 14 countries, EMpower has invested over $8 million since 2000. Empower is an international grant-maker dedicated to empowering young people from poor communities in EM countries worldwide. They look for great locally-led organizations on the ground that are addressing the most pressing problems for at-risk youth in their communities, such as lack of relevant education and employment opportunities, trafficking, HIV/AIDS, violence and abuse, early marriage an dunwanted pregnancies. EMpower makes grants to improve opportunities for young people in four key areas of youth development: health, education, leadership, livelihoods.
Given that there are 1.5 billion young people worldwide, constituting about 30% of the population in EM coutnries, investing in young people has huge potential to change not only their lives but also their nations.
Last year alone EMpower granted a record $1,786,800 million via 53 grants including 10 to new partners in 14 coutnries. $1,105,000 of this amount was from EMpower UK.
