Kids at school in Nepal
"A small charity with big ambition. Seeing first hand the enthusiasm of kids in Nepal to learn and develop, convinced two cyclists that they wanted to do more than give pens and sweets to these children. In partnership with Nepali friends they founded A charity set up to improve education for children in Phulkharka, a rural and deprived area of Nepal."

Joe Wherity's Le Mans 24 Hour Cycle

Joe Wherity

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

On the 20th August I am attempting a solo 24 hour cycling challenge around the Le Mans motor circuit, in an attempt to raise as much money as possible for the charity - Kids At School In Nepal.

My parents are heavily involved in the charity and regularly visit Nepal, witnessing first hand how the money raised can change the lives of children in some of the poorest and most remote regions. I was also lucky enough to visit Nepal after the 2015 earthquake and was amazed at how warm, friendly and resilient the people were, despite living in such a remote and harsh environment.

In essence this small charity supports schools in a very remote area of Nepal and every penny raised goes directly to help improve children's education. Needless to say, after the huge earthquake in April 2015, many of the school buildings were either damaged or completely destroyed and therefore, more than ever, there is a need to rebuild and repair the schools so that education can continue.

As my friends and family know I absolutely love riding my bike but generally not by myself and certainly not for 24 hours in succession. This will be a huge personal challenge and is not something I have taken on without a huge amount of thought (and bulk purchase of Vaseline!).

My aim will be to cover in excess of 500km (300+ miles in old money) within the 24 hours which, to put things into perspective, is 300km longer than any other ride I have attempted before. Hopefully the scale of this challenge will help raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause.

Any donation, no matter how small, would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks for your support.

We are very interested in doing the w trek west to east using refugios. We are 2 adults and ideally would like to start on 12th Deb but can be flexible depending on availability. We would require 1 made bed and 1 unmade bed but both full board. We would also like transport to and from the start and end of the trek.
Please can you come back to us as soon as possible with a quotereally appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
