Teacher Support Network is a unique charity, dedicated to providing vital support to the teaching profession in England and Wales. Teachers play a vital role in all our lives, as we count on them to educate and inspire our young people. It is therefore in all our intrests to ensure that they get the support they need to improve their wellbeing and effectiveness. We are the charity for all teachers - and we support teachers at every stage of their career and throughut their retirement. The number of teachers coming to us for help continues to rise year on year - so your support means a lot to us. We provide support through a free 24/7 confidential phone line giving counselling advice and support on emotional, personal, professional and financial matters. We also provide online counselling, financial hardship grants and an online info centre. Our services are open to all teachers, former teachers and their families.

24/12 Joe Williams' Challenge
2010 is the year that I take on the challenge of completing 24 10km races in 12 months – an average of one every fortnight.
I have cleaned my running shoes, bought myself some new running gear, put together some new high-BPM playlists and cut down on London Pride (well, a little). Through the depths of winter and the heat of summer I will be competing against hundreds of other runners each month to raise money for Teacher Support Network.
The charity offers free emotional and practical advice, helping to ease the pressure on teachers so that they are able to be the best that they can be.
I am aiming to raise £5,000. This will cover the cost of 200 30-minute telephone counselling sessions for teachers in need.
If you help me reach this target it means that every 1.2km I run we will have raised enough money for a teacher to receive professional counselling (each of which costs £25). Or looking it another way, for every £1 you sponsor, I run five metres.
