Charities
The East Anglian Air Ambulance is a lifesaving charity covering the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. We receive no Government funding so are entirely dependant on fundraisers, donations and the generosity of the public. We have to raise over £3 million a year to continue our service, flying 365 days a year, with an average of four to five missions per day. Beacuse our crews can get to patients fast and provide advanced medical attention we can be the difference between complete recovery and long term injury, life and death. Road traffic accidents account for over 50% of the incidents we're called to. Due to the speed of the helicopters it takes no more than 13 minutes to the nearest A&E department within the region. It's your support that enables us to save lives.
Virgin Unite is the non-profit foundation of the Virgin Group. We unite people to tackle tough social and environmental problems in an entrepreneurial way. Our aim is to help revolutionize the way businesses, government and the social sector work together - driving business as a force for good. This is based on the belief that this is the only way we can tackle the scale and urgency of the challenges facing the world today. All of Virgin Unite’s overheads are covered by Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100% of additional donations received, go direct to the frontline where they are needed most.
Please note Virgin Money Giving isn't responsible for the content fundraisers post on their pages, but if you see something you feel is offensive or inappropriate, please let us know and we'll look into it.
Jonathan Steel's SkyDive fundraising page
I am jumping out of an aeroplane on 29th March for charity and looking for as much cold hard cash as possible!
13,500 feet, falling at 120mph is a bit scary and I wish I could use some of the sponsorship money towards my underwear bill I will have afterwards, but it is all for a great cause!
Any donations will be greatly appreciated as I would not only like to reach my £200 target but raise a lot more if possible - I realise times are hard but surely it is worth a few quid knowing it is going towards making a grown man cry.
Wish me luck - and yes, i am bricking myself!!!!
