Charity

Action Duchenne
Action Duchenne is a national charity that aims to find a cure for Duchenne, a severe genetic muscle wasting disease. The condition affects mainly boys and without treatment most of these young men are completely paralysed by their early teens and die by their late teens or early 20s. To ensure we do not lose another generation of young people to this terrible disease we need more funding for research and treatment

Ed and Jonny are running the 2011 London Marathon for Action Duchenne. They are trying to raise as much money as possible for funding to find a cure for this terrible muscle wasting disease which is fatal in young men around the world.

Jonny's little brother Tomos who is 3 is a sufferer and ever since finding out this news he and his family have done a number of fund raising events over the last few years to raise money for this worthy charity and Ed and Jonny are desperate to put in a good performance and raise as much money as possible in completing the marathon.

Ed and Jonny would be so grateful if you could sponsor them for this event and the Spowart family are obviously hugely grateful for any contribution received to try and find a cure for this horrible disease.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
