Oxfam Haiti Appeal

A major earthquake has struck Haiti just over ten miles from the capital Port-au-Prince. This is the largest earthquake ever recorded in this desperately poor country. Your help is needed immediately. Oxfam’s long term work in Haiti means that staff are already there, teams across the region are responding to the situation where the need is most urgent. Oxfam’s emergency response will include providing clean water, sanitation and shelter. You can help by donation to the Haiti earthquake appeal. Your help is needed immediately.

Thank you all for your kind words and generosity.  It is thanks to you all that Joseph's first Triathlon was made special not just for him and us but more importantly for the people in Haiti.  On the event, Joseph kept going and finished the swim in under 7mins, the cycle and transition took under 19mins and the final transition and run was done in just over 10 minutes - a total of just over 37 minutes.  Thanks again to all of you who have contributed and helped Joseph smash his target, and to those of you who hopefully will continue to donate… it couldn’t have been done without you!!!!  THANK YOU!

Joseph, who is 7 years old, has been inspired by Charlie Simpson (also 7 and who has raised over £190 000 with his sponsored Bike Ride), and has come up with his own idea to raise money for this worthwhile cause. 

His Dad is a Triathlete and he has decided to do a Sponsored Triathlon even though he has never done one before. He is aiming to complete the whole event without stopping, starting with the swim at Thirsk Pool on Sunday 28th February. He is hoping that you will sponsor him so that he can raise money for the OXFAM HAITI disaster appeal.

A note from Joseph: 

My name is Joseph Busuttil, and I want to do a Sponsored Triathlon for Haiti to help all the people who are sad because they have lost their homes and families.  I want to make some money to help them. 

I am going to do a 150m swim at Thirsk Swimming Pool, then a 4km cycle followed by a 1.5km run. Please can you sponsor me and all your money will go to OXFAM Haiti Appeal.
