The Victoria Foundation - The Victoria Foundation exists to provide life enhancing medical assistance with the aim of improving lives where there is an opportunity to do so. The Foundation is helping to change many lives through the medical support it provides to both individuals and charities including Mobility Aids for Children, Accessible Transport, Hospital Treatment, Medical Equipment and Toolkit Grants and Bursaries to ensure the young people destined to be to become the future generations of doctors are not prevented from doing so because of finanacial restrictions. The donations we receive fund medical support and are not used to cover our administration costs.

Funny Women Challenge

Women aren't funny, it's a common cry. Richmond business, Funny Women has been proving differently for the last 8 years. With a record number of entries into the 2010 Funny Women awards, now it's time to show that all women can tap into their innate sense of humour and use it to communicate effectively in their business and social lives. How hard can it be? We challenge five local business women to take to the Funny Women stage for one night only and perform three minutes of stand up comedy to a paying audience in aid of Richmond based charity, The New Victoria Medical Foundation, in the lush surroundings of the Bingham Hotel. The show will be hosted by television, Gabby Logan, who is also in training to tell a few jokes, and each woman will be mentored for her performance by Lynne Parker, founder and producer of Funny Women and a few of her favourite female acts.

Hi, thanks for visiting my Funny Women Challenge fundraising page.

As you know I am always up for a challenge and this is certainly a BIG one! I have agreed, along with four other business women like me, to perform three minutes of stand-up comedy for the first time to a paying audience! The event on 23rd November will raise awareness and funds for Richmond based charity, The New Victoria Medical Foundation, and takes place in the luxurious surroundings of The Bingham, boutique hotel and restaurant. 

Hosting the show will be television presenter and Richmond resident, Gabby Logan who is also in training to tell a few jokes and a few funny anecdotes about life with the BBC sports presenting team.  

Helping to train me to ensure I raise a few laughs will be local business, Funny Women, which has been facing up to the challenge of proving that women really are very funny for the last eight years.  With a record number of entries this year into its annual new talent competition, the Funny Women Awards, the producers want to show the audience that everybody can tap into their innate sense of humour and use it to communicate effectively in their business and social lives, especially women – even ME!

This is a BIG challenge for me so PLEASE SPONSOR ME and help me to raise £500 for The New Victoria Medical Foundation.  100% of the funds I raise will help to provide much needed mobility equipment for disabled children living in the local area helping to give them independence at school and home.  Virgin Money Giving will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
