Magpas Air Ambulance
Magpas Air Ambulance brings crucial lifesaving care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in the East of England and beyond. Our enhanced medical team receives specialist training which allows us to offer procedures and treatments at the scene, like general anaesthetic, which are usually only available in hospital. This means that the frontline care the team delivers doesn’t just save lives, it helps seriously ill and injured people return to a good quality of life.
Only 71 days to go!

On 21st January 1994, my sister Sally and I got off the school bus and held hands to cross the road, three miles outside Thorney near Peterborough. As the bus pulled away we looked both ways and crossed, but a car came out nowhere which changed everyone's lives. My family still remember the sound of the bang as the car hit us.

We were both critically injured. When Magpas Air Ambulance arrived (Dr Jackson, Dr Richards and Dr Knights) they did everything they could to save us both. My sister and I were taken to hospital in separate ambulances, whilst the Magpas doctors treated us on board. We died and were brought back to life several times - for which I will be eternally grateful to Magpas.

Sadly, my sister and my best friend Sally lost her fight for life on 23rd January, due to a severe head trauma and organ failure. The doctors told my family I was in a very serious condition and wasn't expected to survive. I had suffered significant head injuries, broken bones, a stroke, a collapsed lung and had gravel in my lungs.  My motivation and positivity drove me forward to make a full recovery and that same drive and motivation has made me the person I am today.  I did however lose my memory of life before the accident and had to use photos to remind me of my best friend.

Sally was a girl full of smiles who helped everyone. I know like me she would want to thank the people who did so much to help save us both and raise money to give other people the same opportunity we had. At Sally's funeral it was requested no flowers but to give donations to Magpas, and these donations raised enough to buy lifesaving equipment which went onto save many people. I will be doing a Skydive on 22nd July 2017 for myself and in memory of Sally, to raise as much money as possible for Magpas Air Ambulance. Please help me to help Magpas save more lives.

Magpas Air Ambulance brings critical life-saving care my land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in East Anglia and beyond. They support the ambulance service by giving advanced medical care when time is of the essence.

Some of the UK's expert doctors and paramedics volunteer their time to help Magpas Air Ambulance.

Magpas Air Ambulance medical team receives enhanced training which allows them to offer treatment and perform procedures at the scene i.e. general anaesthetic which is only usually available in hospital. Magpas Air Ambulance is NOT a state funded service and relies on the generous public donations to help save lives.

Can I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and kindness, in helping me to raise money for Magpas Air Ambulance. I will keep this page open for some time after the skydive, to allow people to donate when they can - so we can maximise the amount raised.
