Charity
The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home is a registered charity offering specialist and supportive care and advice for patients with cancer and other life threatening illnesses in their homes. We also aim to help the relatives and those carers close to the patient during the illness and bereavement period. The service is available 365 days a year and offers patients and carers access to on-call specialist advice and nursing visits on a 24 hour on-call basis. Our Hospice at Home service is offered to patients and families free of charge.

Running the 2010 Virgin London Marathon
for Iain Rennie in Memory of Lauren Chambers
25 April 2010 I will be taking my first steps along the 26 miles and 385 yard long journey that is The London Marathon in aid of Iain Rennie and in Memory of Lauren Chambers.
I'm thrilled to use this opportunity to raise funds for Iain Rennie, a charity that worked closely with the Chambers family throughout their daughter's illness. Lauren was 16 when she died of cancer. Her enthusiasm, love of life and her family's amazing endurance are what truly inspire me.
Below are a few words from Lauren's father, Colin....
' As with most serious illnesses, we had to go to hospitals for so many things. Tests, scans, needles, treatments, doctors, consultants, surgeons; everyone of them dedicated professionals but all anyone wants to do and Lauren was certainly no exception, is just come home.
We became quite skilled at springing ourselves out of hospital and even in the midst of all the traumas, just arriving back to the sanctuary of home meant everything to Lauren and the rest of the family. We also became quite adept at administering medicines and various other aspects of caring for Lauren so that she was pain free and able do as many things as possible.
The Ian Rennie Team based at Tring and the Community Nurses gave us the confidence to care for Lauren at home, kept us out of hospital and together at home as a family for so much of time that Lauren had left with us. An Ian Rennie or Pepper nurse is on the end of a phone 24 hours a day and offer invaluable support to families who find themselves facing such difficult situations'
