Charity

Kayak River Gambia
KayakRiverGambia.com is an upcoming charity event in which we (Kamil and Grant) aim to kayak the full length of the River Gambia, from Koina to Banjul! We intend to complete this epic 320 mile journey in 10-12 days starting on March 26th 2012. Funds are being raised for ShadieFarage.com, a charitable organisation which was formed in memory of our late friend and brother, Shadie Farage, who tragically died in a car accident in The Gambia in 2007. We fundraise for this charity regularly and all funds raised go directly to benefiting children in The Gambia; there are no administrative costs and our work to date can be seen on the charity website. Since starting in 2008, we have personally distributed 1335 footballs, 1056 kits and 312 pumps to 221 different schools along the full length of The Gambia. Our aim for this challenging kayaking event is to raise £10,000 in the UK and £10,000 in The Gambia. Achieving our target will enable us to improve and develop infrastructure (such as classrooms and teacher housing) at a number of selected schools in real need of renovation in The Gambia. Please support us and help us give back to the children of The Gambia, a country that is close to our hearts. ‘KayakRiverGambia.com’ and ‘ShadieFarage.com’ work in association with ‘Naturel Change’ (a registered charity in England and Wales, No. 1140751, registered as a company limited by guarantee in England & Wales, No. 07383570).

Hi, thanks for visiting our page!

In May 2011 we had the crazy idea of kayaking the 320 mile length of the River Gambia to raise money for our charity ShadieFarage.com, set up in memory of our friend and brother, Shadie.

Here we are now, back on dry land after having fended off the hippos, crocs, mosquitos all so that we can raise a substantial amount of money to help improve and develop infrastructure (such as classrooms and teacher housing) at a number of selected schools in real need of renovation in The Gambia! The event took us ten grueling days, but it was worth it to see how much support we have received! Please continue to support us and help us give back to the children of The Gambia, a country that is close to our hearts.

Many thanks

Kamil and Grant
