Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (The)
Ectopic pregnancy affects as many as 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK, with as many as 30,000 occurring in England alone, and sadly resulting in the death of around 5 women each year. The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust provides information, education and support to those whose lives are touched by the condition and to the professionals who care for them. We receive no government of core funding and rely entirely on third party donations and fundraising to deliver our services which are free at the point of delivery. Visit http://www.ectopic.org.uk for more information on the condition and to find out about other ways you can help.

After being told over the past couple of years by several people that I am the most unhealthy person they know, and constant nagging from Angela. I gave up smoking and decided to get fit. So far I have ran a couple of half marathons and now I am going to go for the big one, but do it for a really good cause.

I am raising money for the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, which is a charity who help families deal with issues that have affected someone we no doubt know.

Ectopic pregnancy affects 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK, with an unknown number of women being admitted to hospital or treated in Early Pregnancy Units and Emergency Gynaecology clinics every year. There are at least  11,000 emergency admissions for the condition annually in England, and from anecdotal evidence, it is believed the number of cases of ectopic pregnancy may number more than 30,000 per year in the UK alone. The number of ectopic pregnancies and deaths (approximately 5 per year) caused by this condition has not fallen in the past 20 years – in fact the incidence is rising. Until the launch of The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust in 1998 there was no body in the UK which focused exclusively on this relatively common condition.

The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust provides information, education and support to those whose lives have been affected by ectopic pregnancy and to the professionals who care for them.

I would really appreciate any money you could spare to sponsor me for this worthwhile cause.  Not sure what or who I am going to dress up as when I run round, but any good suggestions welcome, my favourite so far is Gary Mcallister.
