Kitesurfing Armada

Snow-Camp (Kitesurfing Armada)
The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada is world record breaking kitesurfing event aiming to support three charities - Virgin Unite, the RNLI and the host charity for the event, Snow-Camp. Virgin Unite is the non- profit foundation of the Virgin Group. They unite people to tackle tough social and environmental problems in an entrepreneurial way. All of Virgin Unite’s overheads are covered by Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100% of additional donations received, go direct to the frontline where they are needed most. The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. The RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crews rescue an average of 22 people every day around the coasts and waterways of Britain and Ireland. They have been a massive support to kitesurfers over the years and we are delighted to support them through our event. Snow-Camp is a youth charity whose work with inner city young people from disadvantaged backgrounds has developed rapidly since being established in London in 2003. Their programmes support young people by combining snow-sports and intensive youth work sessions to engage, challenge and motivate young people, transforming attitudes and behaviour and developing key life-skills, leading to snowsports qualifications and jobs in the snowsport industry. Snow-Camp staff founded this event in 2013 and they remain the host charity for the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada.

Kitesurfing Armada

My page:

Thank you so much for visiting the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada fundraising page. Every penny you donate here goes to support three fantastic charities: Virgin Unite, youth charity Snow-Camp and the RNLI.

Thank you for your support!

The Virgin Kitesurfing Aramada is the first event of its kind, aiming to set a new kitesurfing world record and raise funds for our charities.

Hosted by Lewis Crathern of Best Kiteboarding (of pier jumping fame!) the challenge consists of two parts:

First, the Guinness World Record Attempt. If we get 250 kiters or more to progress downwind, covering a mile from start line to finish line at Hayling Island, we will set a new World Record for the largest parade of Kitesurfers ever.

The second part is the downwinder. As soon as kitesurfers cross the finish line of the one mile course, they begin the 46 mile downwinder challenge! Kiters will try to ride along the coast, stopping at Pagham and Littlehampton and finishing at Lancing to complete the event.
