Twenty years ago Africa was in the midst of a poaching crisis. Black rhino were on the brink of extinction (just 2,000 remained) and the African elephant population was being slaughtered at a rate of 100,000 each year, just for their ivory. Drastic times required urgent action. Tusk was established in response to an urgent need to halt the decline in Africa’s natural heritage and find a way to combine the interests of people and wildlife alike.

Nomad Trust's fundraising page
Hi, thanks for visiting our page. We are raising money for the Nomad Trust, which invests in communities and conservation in Tanzania.
How we balance the rights and interests of human populations with our equally human obligation to preserve some measure of biodiversity is one of the key challenges we face. The Nomad trust, through it’s education and conservation projects, in some small way aims to address the biodiversity crisis that we currently face, in order for Tanzania’s future generations to enjoy a healthy planet/wilderness experience.
100% of Money donated to Nomad Trust goes directly to
community development and environmental education.
Ultimately the longevity of a protected area depends on the
goodwill of its neighbors. Fostering positive attitudes through
environmental education is essential.
Nomad Trust, partnered with Winters Rotary Club, Besom Charity and Professors from UC Davis, Monique Borgerhoff Mulder and Tim Caro, are building a youth centre in Usevya, outside Katavi National Park. The recreational and educational facilities provided at the centre will serve a critial need for the youth of this community.
I am currently trying to raise funds to buy a solar system for the youth centre. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
