Community Links is an innovative east London charity, running a wide range of community services and projects for all ages. Based in Newham, we have over 30 years of experience working with local people to support children, young people, adults and families. Through our national work, we share lessons with government and community groups across the country to achieve social change.

Laura's Run to the Beat Challenge...
Did you know that in east London, 1 in 4 children live in poverty?
Sadly, this is a true story. Which is why I am dusting off my running shoes and hitting the road for the Run to the Beat half marathon, to raise funds to support to the work of east London charity Community Links.
Community Links works with the most vulnerable children, young people, adults and elderly people in society, helping to raise aspirations for a better life and build their own ladders out of poverty. For example, Community Links;
- Runs a school for children excluded from mainstream education.
- Opens its doors for children at its school clubs and youth clubs, offering safe places for the children to go, and to keep them happy and engaged through educational play activities
- Supports elderly people in the community with a pensioners club and support for those who cannot leave their homes
- Provides education and training for young adults to equip them with the skills to get into employment.
- Provides free advice for vulnerable people in the community - last year they helped over 9,000 people!
So if like me, you believe that poverty shouldn't exist, and that everyone deserves the same opportunities in life, please sponsor me!
Every donation will make a real difference to an individuals life, and if that isn't reason enough, you'll also have the opportunity to point and laugh at me as I drag my lazy beer drinking bulk around the 13.1 mile course, wheezing all the way.

Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
