Lou's Loonies 2012
Once again, Lou's Loonies are taking a walk in aid of Breast Cancer Care. I feel so lucky to be joined by such supportive and great friends, A RECORD BREAKING TEAM OF 20 MEMBERS! Always room for more too!

This time, we are tackling the Blenheim Ribbon Walk Course. Some of the team will be walking for the day to complete the 20 mile course. Others will be joining me for an afternoon walk of 10 miles. I am sure we shall all meet to cross the finishing line together!
Breast Cancer Care continue to provide excellent services to all affected by this terrible disease. Personally, I have needed their services and support a lot this year. I have phoned their helpline on occasions when I just needed some advice and a listening ear. I have logged on to their website to gain information about the radiotherapy treatment I was facing and the new Chemo tablets that I am now taking. I also used their online forum to make contact with other ladies to learn how the Chemo affected them, this helped me prepare myself for the changes. I find knowledge gives you more control of the situation.
I also joined Breast Cancer Care at the Houses of Parliament back in October. They are campaigning for better care of patients with secondary breast cancer. Thanks to their initiatives, I have gone back to Southampton General and tackled the issue of needing a nurse specialist to support our specific needs. The wheels are now in motion.
Breast Cancer Care also thoroughly spoilt me when I was a model at their fashion show in London. It was a super event and it gave me a real boost at a very challenging time.
