Prospect Hospice
For thirty years Prospect Hospice has been where people have turned to for dedicated end of life care in Swindon, Marlborough and North Wiltshire. Our care has expanded and evolved over the years, and today our aim is to bring care, comfort and confidence for patients, and practical and emotional support for their carers and family. We’re based at Wroughton, near Swindon, and our work serves a community of more than 300,000 people, from our main towns of Swindon and Marlborough, and out to the towns and villages across the region. Our community first supported the idea of a Hospice here in 1980, and has continued to back our work ever since. It’s thanks to you that we can care for around 1400 patients and their family members each year, around the clock, 365 days of the year. It costs around £4.5m to deliver our care each year, three quarters of which we must raise ourselves. Thank you for supporting Prospect Hospice. We couldn’t be here without you!

Hi,

Thanks for visiting my page. I am participating in the 70.3 UK Ironman on the 20th June 2010 to help raise funds to support Prospect Hospice.

For those people who maybe dont know me so well, I am currently a doctor at the hospice.  I have been working here for a few months now and feel that prospect offer the most wonderful care to patients and their families who have life limiting conditions.  Care if offered in the 14 bed inpatient unit and many forms of support are also provided in the community.  Prospect relies on public support to continue to provide a wide range of services helping to support patients and their families.

The Ironman triathalon comprises of a 1.2mile open water swim followed by a 56 mile cycle up 52 hills, followed by a 13.1 mile run (up hills).  I have never done anything like this before and started training in november 2009.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to prospect hospice. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
