Birmingham Children's Hospital
Birmingham Children’s Hospital is one of only four specialist Children’s Hospitals in the UK. As well as providing first class general paediatric services to children in the West Midlands, we treat some of the sickest children in the country and provide some of the most highly specialised services in the country. Charitable donations support and enhance the services of Birmingham Children’s Hospital by helping to fund additional facilities and equipment, supporting medical research and providing the extras that make being in hospital a more comfortable and less distressing experience for children and their families. Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a centre of excellence. With your support we can keep it that way and ensure that it continues to care for our children whilst working to research, prevent, and cure childhood illnesses.

Hi, thanks for visiting our page and supporting Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Kirsten's Story - Kirsten was born with a serious heart condition (Tetralogy of Fallot) which basically means that over time her heart would not be able to supply enough oxygenated blood to her body. She had a major operation to correct the condition in September 2011. She then spent one day in intensive care and a further five days on Ward 12.

She has since been back to BCH in March 2012 for another procedure to correct a restriction in the arteries from her heart to her lungs.

BCH needs your support - Birmingham Children’s Hospital has one of the busiest Children’s Heart Centres in the UK. The internationally renowned Cardiac Unit sees over 10,000 children a year, with approximately 80% of surgeries being open-heart procedures, and around 60% performed on children under 12 months old. The money you donate is going to support the work of the Cardiac Unit and the superb care provided by the staff in looking after these very special children.

A group of six friends will be cycling the Maratona dles Dolomites (Long Course). The route is 138km long and cimbs 4190m in the Italian Dolomites. The team is of varying levels of experience. Kirsten's Dad (Alan) hasn't riden a bike for 20 years. You can follow the teams training on our blog.

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
