Thank you so much for visiting my page. In one week I'll be on a plane to Africa, I can't believe this is finally happening!
I'm currently finishing my PhD in Chemistry at the University of Glasgow (wish me luck!) and I loved every single bit of these past 4 years in Scotland. Ten months ago I decided to go for it, I knew it was going to be overwhelming to deal with both with the end of my doctorate degree and fundraising/training, but all the effort/commitment and worries I have to face will be all well worth it. Furthermore, having studied all my life, I value education at all levels and it is unbelievable something as basic as primary school is still an issue in same places of the world. Malawi finally is the place to be for its need, beauty and strong bond with Scotland (it all makes perfect sense, right?).
Cycling nearly 400 Km in 5 days across Malawi it's a big challenge for me, so I wanted to thank all the people who supported me, you’ll keep me going when it’ll get tough. All the money will go to Link Community Development, for school projects in Malawi.

Lo scorso Agosto ho deciso di impegnarmi a raccogliere fondi per migliorare l'educazione primaria nel Malawi con l'associazione Link Community Development, in particolare ho accettato la sfida di pedalare quasi 400 km attraverso il Malawi in 5 giorni. Una scelta davvero istintiva, non ho mai raccolto fondi in vita mia, saranno stati 10 anni dall'ultima volta che salivo su una bici e non sono mai stata una persona atletica...insomma, la ricetta per un disastro totale. Ciononostante tutti questi motivi mi suonavano come scuse, se c’e’ qualcosa che mi sta a cuore, devo trovare la forza, il tempo e la dedizione.
I soldi raccolti qui vanno interamente e direttamente all'associazione (il gift aid puo' essere donato solo da quelli che pagano le tasse negli UK).
Infine, volevo ringraziare tutti i miei amici per avermi incoraggiato in questa avventura, sarete nei miei pensieri quando mi trovero’ in difficolta’ e pensero’ di aver chiesto troppo da me stessa. Ed un ringraziamento particolare a mio padre, il ciclismo scorre nelle vene e mia madre, passata dall’idea che io possa rimanerci in Malawi (nel senso morta stecchita), ad un piu’ mite “affido la tua vita nelle mani del Signore” :)
