Guinness World Records attempt for the World's Longest Charity Football Match

22 October 2010

This match is being organised to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and is now on her way to recovery. Since then, I have wanted to raise money for breast cancer charities. I have been accepted to run the 2011 Virgin London Marathon for Breast Cancer Campaign and need to raise £1,500 but intend to smash that target! I am organising this match to break the Guinness World Record for the longest football match, the current record stands at 42 hours and five minutes. This match is to last for 60 hours from 9am on Friday 22nd October until 9pm on Sunday 24th October at the Loughborough University front rubber crumb. The rules stipulate that there can be a maximum of 18 players on each team (7 substitutes) each player has pledged to raise £500 which would give a fantastic total of £18,000 for Breast Cancer Campaign.
