The Sabre Charitable Trust
The Sabre Charitable Trust is a small charity working on a big issue: Education. Through our Whole School Improvement Programme we are working with the local education authorities to make school a better place for Ghanaian children and encourage them to stay in education for longer.

In November, Annabel & Charles and Rollo & Aubrey will be driving from the UK through the Sahara desert in a 1948 Lea Francis car to Timbuktu, and then onto Bronyibima in Southern Ghana.

Besides the sheer excitement of such an adventure, we are committed to raising  funds for a new kindergarten school for the children of Bronyibima (a rural village just outside Elmina), under the charitable status of the Sabre Trust.

There will be a total of 6 vehicles making the journey, and we hope to raise enough cash to start construction of the new school by the end of this year.

The Sabre Trust is a small independent education based development organisation.  Their aim is to provide an integrated solution which supports government initiatives to enhance the school education system (4-16 year olds) in rural parts of Ghana.  The solutions are to be child-centred, sustainable, scaleable and community-based.

To deliver this, the Sabre Trust forms partnerships with companies, organisations, schools, communities and individuals, in Ghana and overseas, harnessing their skills and enthusiasm to support the projects.

The charity’s long term ambition is to leave a lasting legacy of positive change through high quality public education for school children in Ghana, whilst establishing models that can be transferred to other countries. It is hoped that this will  enable future generations to achieve their academic potential and contribute to sustained economic prosperity for Africa.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be immediately processed and passed to Sabre. Virgin Money Giving is a Not for Profit organisation and will claim gift aid on Sabre's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
