Established in 1997, the Shark Trust is the only UK registered charity working to advance the worldwide conservation of sharks (including skates, rays and chimaeras) through science, education, influence and action. We are an effective and well respected advocate for sound shark management and protection; a founder member of the Shark Alliance; the Secretariat of the European Elasmobranch Association; and a membership organisation that provides a crucial link between the public and the science community. The Shark Trust: Works to deliver effective UK, EU and International wildlife protection and fisheries management. * Is a well respected authority for sound shark management and protection. * Delivers innovative and engaging public outreach, awareness and recording schemes. * Collaborates with Shark advocates, scientists, government and industry towards sustainable domestic and international catch limits and protection for sharks, skates and rays.

Macduff Sharks's fundraising page
Hi All,
Lauren Smith and Chris Rowe of Macduff Marine Aquarium will be braving the chilly waters of the Moray Firth on August the 4th 2012, they will be taking part in the Banff Bay Swim which is a one mile open water stretch from Banff to Macduff lighthouse.
Lauren and Chris will be raising money for the Shark Trust which is the UK charity for shark conservation. The trust works to advance the worldwide conservation of sharks through science, education, influence and action.
So if you care about our oceans and the conservation of our sharks or would just like to have a laugh at Lauren and Chris battle their way along the coastline (wearing shark fins no less!!) please dig deep and sponsor us here!
