Hi, thanks for visiting my page. You can see from the photo I am hard at it!

I was lucky enough this year to get a ballot place in the London Marathon and I have decided to try to raise some money for a cause close to my heart.

It's likely that you or someone close to you will be affected by stroke. Approximately a third of people suffering a stroke will recover completely, a third will suffer some kind of disabilty and a third won't survive.

The Stroke Association has kindly agreed to split any money raised via my page between themselves and TALK where I am one of a number of local volunteers. The Stroke Association is the national charity working to prevent stroke and developing national initiatives to support people affected by stroke whereas TALK is a small local charity supporting people who, following a stroke, have particular difficulties with speech.

As for the event itself, please don't ask about my expected finishing time! I have been training but just completing the course before everyone goes home is my target.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Lots of love

Margaret
