NSPCC
The NSPCC's purpose is to end cruelty to children. Our vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. We seek to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of all children and young people across the UK and Channel Islands. In September 2008, the NSPCC launched its Child's Voice Appeal to answer more children's cries for help. Every day, thousands of children and young people need to talk to ChildLine about a problem they face, while hundreds of caring adults call the NSPCC Helpline, worried about a child's safety. With the help of people like you, ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline are already there for thousands of children and young people, but many more need our help. We rely on the generosity of the general public to continue our work.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

To celebrate my 40th year,  I have decided to do something worthwhile and something that I have always wanted to do.............RUN A MARATHON.

It's a lot harder that I thought, there's the VERY early morning runs, the long runs at the weekends, the runs in the rain & wind and especially the 'I dont want to run today' runs. But I do them all, and it will be all worth it come April 17th.

I am proud to run on behalf of the NSPCC. As you know I have been a teacher for nearly 20 years and love the work they do with children especially their FULL STOP campaign. It really does make a diffrence.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed on to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.

1st APRIL UPDATE.............The training has been really hard over the last month. On Tuesday I did my longest run, 20 Miles Non Stop...I was so happy i finished it. Now I'm in taper mode (calming down and no more very long runs until the big day). Thank you for all you wonderful support and kind words, with your donations I'm so going to reach my NSPCC target...It's the best thing I've done in a very long time.

10th APRIL UPDATE.....ONE WEEK TO GO............. My Marathon number is 44318, on the day we start at 9.45am and I avarage 10-11minute miles, so If your comming down to watch the Marathon you will be able to work out what time i will be passing (eg i'll be passing mile 12 approx 11.45am-12 noon)   Thank You all for your kind donations.

********I DID IT !!!!!!!!  ******* 5 hours and 40 min. It was really  hot and mile 18-20 was the worst but the crowds just kept cheering me on. Today my legs and feet are in so much pain but, i did it! Thank you to all who came down to the Marathon and all the phone calls and texts.

I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Kind Regards

MARINO
