Iain Rennie Hospice At Home
The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home is a registered charity offering specialist and supportive care and advice for patients with cancer and other life threatening illnesses in their homes. We also aim to help the relatives and those carers close to the patient during the illness and bereavement period. The service is available 365 days a year and offers patients and carers access to on-call specialist advice and nursing visits on a 24 hour on-call basis. Our Hospice at Home service is offered to patients and families free of charge.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Virgin Money Giving page.

I will be taking part in the London Marathon on the 25th April 2010 and I will be running 26.2 miles to raise funds for The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.

FOUR YEARS AGO, MY FATHER-IN-LAW DIED FROM CANCER ALONE IN HOSPITAL DESPITE HIS DYING WISH TO REMAIN AT HOME AND RECEIVE THE CARE NECESSARY TO REDUCE HIS  DISTRESS AND SUFFERING. I AM RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON FOR IRHH BECAUSE THEY OFFER EXACTLY THE TYPE OF CARE AND SUPPORT THAT SHOULD BE UNIVERSALLY AVAILABLE TO TERMINALLY ILL PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE WHERE AND HOW THEY ARE TREATED. I HOPE THAT YOU WILL SUPPORT MY FIRST MARATHON ATTEMPT. IT IS VERY DAUNTING AND EXCITING!!!
