Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research is the only charity in the UK dedicated exclusively to researching blood cancers and disorders including leukaemia, Hodgkin’s and other lymphomas, and myeloma.

So I’ve signed up to a half-marathon in London on September 25th (http://www.runtothebeat.co.uk/ - I like the look of this one as they play music to you as you run!). I’ve never done anything like this before so I'm not sure what kind of time I should be aiming for, initially it will be sub-1hr40, but this may change with training! Any runners amongst you please advise on your times / experiences!
I will be raising money for a joint cause (‘health’ being the underlying theme…).
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research http://www.beatbloodcancers.org/research : A UK charity dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for all blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. We all know, in some form or another, how devastating cancer can be. Research in this field is something I am keen to support.
AFC Didsbury http://www.afcdidsbury.co.uk/ : My local Sunday-league football team. We formed in 2010 and had a successful first season, being crowned champions of the Manchester Amateur Sunday League 3rd Division at the first time of asking. The team was entirely funded by players subs in the first year, which became a heavy burden by the end of the season, with pitch hire, referee fees, registration fees and training costs to cover. Even though we’ve a squad size of 25, the club isn’t really sustainable without a sponsor. Therefore we are currently in talks with a number of local establishments, and in the mean-time, taking on some fundraising events on an individual basis.
I will be splitting any funds I raise 50:50 between each cause, unless otherwise requested with donations.
I thank all those who sponsored me last November. I totally understand you declining any involvement this time round if you did.
