Charity
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is dedicated to funding research to find the cure for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin-dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.

Michael Judkins's fundraising page
Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
I am fundraising to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ( JDRF ) which is committed to helping find a cure for type 1 diabetes, with particular focus on children and young people. Strangely, there is an ongoing annual increase in diagnosis in the younger age group, particularly children under five. JDRF is constantly in need of funds to move forward in its mission to promote scientific research into the possibility of a cure and measures which might ease the impact of type 1 diabetes among those youngsters who have been diagnosed.
The day of the event, the Royal Parks half-marathon, was unforgettable. The route follows much of the main London marathon course, leaving and returning to Hyde Park, being cheered on by onlookers at almost every point. To line up at the start amongst 12500 runners was an incredible experience. I was able to achieve a finishing position of 3028, in a time of 1 hour 51 minutes. Certainly worth not giving up near the end !
Many thanks indeed to all of you who kindly donated, and i can assure everyone paying back that support was uppermost in my mind in facing the challenge of the course on the morning of the race. The page will remain open for a little longer and any further contributions, however small, to go towards this very deserving charitable cause will be much appreciated.
Thank you very much.
