FONSA - FONSA is a Charitable Trust created to help the people of Nablus and surrounding areas who are suffering the effects of occupation. Nablus is the most important city in the West Bank and was the cultural and commercial capital of Palestine. Businesses and education have been severely affected. With high unemployment and endemic poverty, many families cannot afford education for their children. Nablus is home to An Najah National University which is the largest university in the West Bank and has other education centres. We support students, projects and developments which can help the people of Nablus to build on their thirst for education and develop their livelihoods.

2013 Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100

Lead out the greats when you take on a cycling challenge like no other through the closed roads of London and the Surrey Hills next summer. Just hours before the world’s top cyclists race the RideLondon Classic, 20,000 cyclists will have the chance to cycle a modified version of the London 2012 Olympic Road Race. This new event offers a unique opportunity to become part of cycling history. Celebrating the legacy for cycling created by London 2012, RideLondon100 will start in the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follow the closed roads through the capital and onto Surrey’s stunning country roads and hills. With leg-testing climbs and a route recently made famous by the world’s best cyclists, this promises to be truly spectacular event for all involved.

Should I feel lucky to get a place to ride 100 miles round London and Surrey?  Or will it be a punishing challenge?  The 19,999 other riders will surely sweep me to the finish, bouyed by your support.

I have never cycled so far in one go though I managed 81 miles in the Etape Caledonia.

Looks like it should be fun and FONSA welcomes the support you give.  Palestinians live under occupation and their everyday lives are made difficult by this. FONSA relieves some of the poverty and supports education for today and a brighter future.
