Heart Research UK
At Heart Research UK we fund medical research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease. Around two million people in the UK are living with heart disease. However, thanks to improved treatment and techniques funded by Heart Research UK, more people are surviving and living happier, healthier, longer lives. In 2007, we celebrated our 40th anniversary and over the last four decades we have funded many pioneering projects at the cutting edge of science. We paid for six of the eight first successful UK heart transplants, carried out by Sir Terence English at Papworth Hospital. Life saving technology that we now take for granted, such as heart valves, angioplasty and more recently, amazing artificial heart pumps, would not have been developed without our help. We would prefer for there to be no heart problems in the first place so we promote the benefits of living a healthy heart lifestyle. Our Healthy Heart grants, school and community talks and Healthy Heart workplace schemes reach communities and give them the knowledge and advice they need to take care of their heart health. My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MillieLavelle

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

One cold & wet November lunch time I went for a run, because I couldn't be bothered walking for 10 min to get to the gym, the one I pay £40 a month not to use.

Perhaps I was dizzy from the exhertion, or perhaps I was high on the endorphines from doing some exercise, but I decided to take part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run on 16th May 2010.

At the time of registering for the run I didn't realise I would be 20 weeks pregnant on the weekend, but after speaking to my midwife & doctors I realised I could still take part, but much much slower than I expected!

I made it through the course in 1 hour 36 min and 48 seconds and ended in bright sunshine!

Many many thanks to everyone who's donated already, and just as many to everyone who's thinking about it. This page will be open untill 16th August 2010.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Heart Research UK. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.

If you aren't able to donate online, but would still like to donate then please let me know, I have a donations box in my SUBWAY store in Preston & any size donation would be greatly recieved!

I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

If you want to know more you could visit my Facebook page blog, or follow my twitter!

Thanks again I couldn't have done it without you!
