The Snowdon Award Scheme
Every year, The Snowdon Award Scheme provides students who have a physical or sensory disability, with grants ranging from £250 to £2,500. These help cover additional costs, like computers, mobility equipment or human help that push up the already high costs of being a student or trainee. Whether they fund a sign language interpreter, someone to take notes, a laptop with special software or other assistive technology, carer's accommodation, transport or something more specific, our grants can change people's lives. They provide students with the opportunity to access education or training and enjoy a level of independence that would not otherwise be possible. Anyone with a physical or sensory impairment who is undertaking a course of further or higher education or other vocational training can apply to us for help with their disability-related study costs.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

The great news is that i have alot of potential regarding fundraising for this event, the restaurant that i work for 'Jamies Italian Westfield' has so far been a great source of support with many generous pledges from my colleagues.

26/4/11-A massive thanks to Jason Ridout at Jamies Italian for sponsoring us with a fantastic pledge of £50!!

Also i'd like to thank two local Highgate businesses for their support in helping me fundraise. 'BBC3' hairdressers and' High Tea of Highgate' both have brilliant staff and could potentially raise a collective amount of pledges that will help us out greatly.

26/4/11-A massive thanks to BBC3 hairdressers and High Tea of Highgate, so far i've collected £65 from BBC3 and have forthcoming pledges from High Tea!

Stats updates:

Dec 16-Average of 10 minute miles around a 14 mile circuit/marathon pace

Jan 18-Average of 8.43 minute miles around a 17.2 mile circuit/marathon pace

Jan 31-I realized that my 1 mile laps had actually been 1.1 miles (dow)... but it's great as i've been running further all the time i've been getting quicker...glad i'm improving and it paid of talking to some previous world record holders and commonwealth medalists...(therefore

Jan 31-Average of 8.13 minute miles around a 19.2 mile circuit/marathon pace

Feb 15-Have tapered down my training in preparation for the half marathon at silverstone on the 6th March. After moving house last mon and had a busy week i was very tired and have slowed a little in pace this time but i'm still pleased...

Feb15-Average of 8.55 minute miles around a 13.9 mile circuit/marathon pace

March 1-Looking forward to Sundays half marathon at Silverstone, going to chill at a remote Manor farm estate prior to the day to be in top form!

March 6th-Addidas half Marathon (Silverstone circuit)

It was an amazing day, i enjoyed it so much and i got my strategy right on the day. Started slowly and then worked my way through the field, finishing with a rigorous sprint and a great target time of 1:45:24 (8 minute miles) Yippee, bang on target for London!!! Look out for the pics!

March 19th-Mixed run from Highgate (home sweet home lol!) to the Thames in town and back...

Today i jogged for an hour, then ran for an hour when i hit the Baker street side of Regents park. Had a rest in Hyde park then jogged again for 30 mins until Primrose Hill...walked to the heath then streched!

March 26th-Longest run day (23.1 miles)

Am so pleased with todays run because i hadn't done a long run at marathon pace for a while and i was slower previously in training due to being too busy!!! Anyway i did it in 3hrs 7mins 8secs which is a pace on average of 8mins 9 secs...i've now got the confidence to go forward and tackle the 26.2 miles on the day...

April 17 'The big day"

Omg what a great day, from inside Greenwich park to the thousands of us counting down to the start, i'm so glad i did a good thing for a great charity and i'm proud of myself as i can honestly say that i have never woeked so hard at something than i did on Sunday!

My time was 3hr 46mins 15secs which is close to my theoretical prediction of 3.30...i can't wait to get back to training and improve my pace so i can have strategically a better race next time...going to miss posting ...thanks so much again for all the support...over and out!

Neil
