The Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts
The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts is an educational charity which provides access for young people who would otherwise grow up having had no, or very limited opportunity, to engage with the arts. Through the work of The Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts children learn that cultural venues are welcoming, accessible and exciting places to visit. It seeks to foster in them a lifelong love of the arts.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

On Sunday 7th October I will be running in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on behalf of The Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts.

The Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts promotes the arts to disadvantaged children throughout the UK.  Astonishing though it may seem, thousands of children in the UK leave school never having been to a theatre, art gallery or to see live music.  The Charity works in creating long-term partnerships between organisations and their local schools and also provide specialist training to empower teachers to bring the world of the arts into the classroom.  There is strong evidence that early engagement with the arts has a positive impact on young people.

If you'd like to find out more about this Charity you can do so by clicking on the Charity's icon to the left.

My new year's resolution for 2012 is to run a half marathon in under 1hr 30 mins.  I've had 2 attempts thus far (1hr 37 (big hills) and 1hr 33 (better)).  This is my last chance.

My training has gone OK so far, helped by the fact that I've been inbetween jobs and had 10 weeks off over the summer.  However, Melissa is due to give birth to our second child on 22nd September and I've been struck down by a killer virus over the last 4 days and have barely left the house let alone thought about putting on runners.

I'm not sure if I'm where I need to be to achieve my target time but I'll certainly give it my best shot and hope to raise lots of money for Children & the Arts in the process.

If you can spare a few pounds, please do sponsor me.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
