Nick Humphreys

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. My name is Nick Humphreys and next summer I will be going overseas to Guyana for 12 months with Project Trust.

I am 17 years old and I am currently in my last year as a student at Craigmount High School.

Many teachers have left Guyana, seeking better pay and greater job security. This has left Guyana with a huge shortage of teachers. During my time in the country I will be teaching a class of around 15 in a small remote village. Without the help of volunteers such as myself, some of these children could struggle to even get an education in such remote areas.

I have chosen to go to Guyana because I want to push myself out of my comfort zone. This amazing experience will allow me to have a once in a lifetime opportunity to live amongst a community that is so different to my own. I will be able to see and experience how people live their lives on the other side of the world.

By July 2016 I need to have raised £6,000, it will be tough but with hard work and effort I will be able to reach my target.  I would be very grateful for any contribution you may be able to make towards my fundraising target.
